you about the new year's eve violence in san francisco last night. police in sacramento are investigating a deadly shooting near a fireworks show. our reporter mike lori tells us two people were killed three others were hurt. what happened out there, mike? >> reporter: well, dave, sacramento police say they have the shooter in custody. the 22-year-old gunman is in the hospital right now. he too was shot it turns out by an armed sure guard who intervened and actually stopped the deadly shooting before it claims even more lives. we do know that two people are dead and three injured following a shooting this tack place a at a bar in old sacramento. one of those dead is an employee, believed to be a waiter who worked in the restaurant. the incident forced the cancellation of new year's eve celebrations, causing thousands of people to head for home without any fireworks at all. here's what one eyewitness told us about. >> we heard gunshots. the dude came into that hooka place shooting. come back out. ran around the corner and was firing down the sidewalk. some guy with a baby

in old sacramento turned into a scene from the wild west. a shoot-out with wooden sidewalks splattered with blood. reporter david has more on the deadly bar shooting and the victims. >> reporter: a worker raked latex gloves and bloody bandages off the sidewalk in old sacramento where new year's eve revelers heard shots. this couple had just stopped to buy something from a vendor outside the bar. as they ran for cover a crowd came stampeding out of the bar, including a man bleeding. >> i saw this man collapsed, then another man was just a little farther. >> reporter: police say a 30- year-old woman was shot but is expected to survive. a 35-year-old man was shot and killed. so was a man for whom friends brought flowers to the scene this afternoon and who police say was working at the bar and tried to break up the fight. >> it wasn't even his day at work. he was filling in for somebody else. >> reporter: also injured was a security guard at the bar who had a gun and pulled it out. police say the guard and the shooter exchanged shots and were both wounded. >> so that's when the suspects st

. the national weather service and the sacramento offices, they issued a dense fog advisory, meaning widespread fog with visibility down to a quarter mile for the deltas. so vallejo, stretching into fairfield. you're going to find this if you do again have the early morning drive to prepare for that. satellite radar here. we will continue with partly cloudy skies for the afternoon. tracking two systems. the first one is here to the south, bringing us that unsettled weather through the workweek. as we get into the weekend, slowly it is shifting east. so now getting rid of that system. that is actually what has kept our temperatures on the milder side. this system is dropping out. they will bring a bit of the unsettled weather. meaning just a stray shower that will be possible. we'll begin to feel it as early as this afternoon. so this system is exiting, this system is pulling in behind the front with that cooler air as we will remain with just a slight chance of the rain. now, just don't cancel those outdoor plans because our chances are, we'll have partly cloudy skies and cooler conditions for

. officials say it started with argument sacramento ahead of a planned fireworks celebration. an employee who tried to break up the fight was shot and killed along with another man. authorities say an armed guard heard the shots and got into a gun fight with the apparent suspect. cops later arrested a 22-year-old in connection with the shooting. new jersey, a five alarm fire ripped through a northberg housing complex damage caused by hurricane sandy. the flames burned in three building at the complex and collapsed one roof it took 100 firefighters several hours to get control of the flames. no major injuries reported. alaska. an oil drilling ship ran aground off the state's southern coast it happened after the broke free from towing ship. the coast guard launched a rescue mission and evacuated all of the vessel's 18 crew members before it ran aground. officials say winds topped 60 miles per hour and seas up of to 35 feet. the vessel had more than 150,000 gallons of fuel on board. no spills reported. that's a fox watch across america. i'm rick folbaum in for shepard smith. this is the fox repo

between sacramento and davis. we have a 30-minute to 90-minute delay after the trespasser incidents. don't have details on what exactly happened. trains are moving again. half hour to maybe an hour and a half depending on where along that line you get in. trains will come into the bay area aer that earlier issue. here we look at south 880 through hayward and into union city with slower southbound commute. we expect that as volume starts to build. also laura told you about that power pole down over there in san lorenzo. there may be some power out for signals around the area. a major roadway parallel toward 880 so that's what you'll have to watch for a little bit. be careful. you may have traffic control. meanwhile, castro valley y picks up volume north 238. keep that in mind. folks heading up to bay bridge, we have metering lights on at the toll plaza and the backup here. you see fastrak lance lanes are moving. east shore freeway moving into the 50s through berkeley and eme emeryvil emeryville. palo alto northbound with those taillights past willow avenue and heading up in toward san mat

sacramento. and 57 degrees into monterey bay. latest computer forecast models show mostly clear skies with occasional high clouds passing through. otherwise, it is going to stay dry today. then another cold night tomorrow morning but probably in the quit as cold as this morning. temperatures about 56 degrees in san jose for a high today. 55 in san mateo. 55 also in hayward. east bay numbers mainly up into the 50s although you see the blue over the mountaintops means the temperatures will stay in the 40s and looks like high as 57 in oakland, maybe the hotspot how about 58 degrees in santa rosa. next couple of days we are looking at lots of sunshine and some warmer weather, some 60s showing up across the board as we head in toward tomorrow and right in through the weekend staying dry probably through monday but i think toward the million-dollar of next week a major change in the weather pattern usually a dry spell in the middle of winter. this is it. after this, it looks like winter is going to make a nice return. >> all right. >> if it's not cold e
